Crossfire Gospel Band History

In 2009 Randy Reeves and former bassist Chris Bigley felt the leading of the Holy Spirit to leave the band they were in and form a new band around the mandate of "Ministry First". They wanted to stop covering other people's music and do the music that the Lord was laying on Randy's heart and to be in a ministry that was seriously fun and seriously effective. Randy contacted his friend David Brooks to cover the drums and Chris hit up his buddy Ron Pardue to handle the lead guitar chores.

The guys hit it off quickly and began working up Randy's music. After a few months and a few ministry opportunities the boys decided they wanted a different musical element to add to the mix and Ron and Chris invited mutual friend Brad Allen to come and check things out. By the end of 2009 things were off and running. Ministry opportunities began rolling in and song after song was added to the set lists. In 2010 CGB recorded their first CD entitled "Walk with Me". 10 songs written primarily by Randy Reeves. The rest of the year was spent playing and ministering in cowboy churches, rodeo's, parks, biker rally’s, outreach events and anywhere else CGB could set up and play. It was also in 2010 that God arranged a meeting with the band and sound tech Stephen Freeman who immediately joined the ministry and is as much a part of the sound of the band as the musicians themselves.

By the middle of 2011 the guys were ready to record their second CD entitled "Wings of My Salvation" with Ron and Brad adding to the songwriting element here and there.  During the recording Chris decided to move on to other things and Albert Garcia stepped in to cover the bass. The guys were blessed with 3 hits from the CD. "Jesus is Knocking" climbed to #18, "Cowboy for Jesus went to #10, and the title track "Wings of My Salvation" topped out as the band's first #1 song. A video for the song followed and the ministry really began to take off. More and more folks were coming to the Lord through the ministry and God's blessing was evident.

In 2013 Albert took a leave of absence and the guys were blessed to have Darrell Hesse fill in for a year until Albert's return early in 2014. Penny Kidd also joining during the year as a social media director and ministry partner for a year until retiring, Dena and Jamie Parrish taking over in 2015. The end of 2014 marked the release of the boys third CD entitled "Lean on the Lord" with the title track and “Gimme Back My Country” both reaching #1.

As always and in all things "To God be ALL the glory" and with His blessing, the future of the CGB Ministry looks brighter all the time.
